A member of Oceanside First Presbyterian Church since 1954, Long-time friendships were formed through early involvement with the Vista Womens Club, the Whirlaways Square Dancing Club, and its off-shoot the Sew n Sews. Jack predeceased Joan in 2007. Ernest was the first born of ten children to Charles and Louise Follis. Donald Harrison Carey, a 58 year resident of Vista, passed away on January 14, 2017, at age 91. Sue is also survived by her brother-in-law Kenneth Nelson and his wife Deanna, sister-in-law Bonnie Hobson and her husband Gary, sister-in-law Marla Nelson, her roommate Mary Damman from the Linn Nursing Home, many nieces and nephews, other family and a host of friends. Dorie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Nevada Kennedy, her brother, Robert F. Timm, Jr., her husband, Irving E. Boots Olsen, and most recently, her daughter Karen Anita Hanson.
