forge of empires optimal great building levels

If you love this building, 60 is the minimum. Some can run for years at ten and do wonders. Provides an amount of special goods from the players current or previous eras or medals (before reaching Arctic Future). Provides an amount of goods from the player's previous era every 24 hours. for sure not excellent. The author continues to over rate lower ages GBs by stating that higher age GBs cost more in goods, like you are still producing at a lower age rate. Dont bother. Provides a supply boost before Arctic Future. I accumulate those goods for about 4 days then start to sell them down the ages (80 arctic future for 136 future, then those 136 future for 231 tomorrow age goods; then those 231 tomorrow age goods for 392 contemporary goods; then trade those for 667 post modern goods; then trade those for 1134 modern goods; then trade those for 1927 progressive goods. Trading in 2 duplicate copies of blueprints you already possess. Already built Virgo. (You will want to get the Cathedral up to at least level 6 though, before it will be paying more than the land cost). Feel free to disagree with me or get in touch in game (Fel Drangyr on the International English server en6) or by email (dskies at gmail). Mostly, I will focus on levels greater than 10, since formulas tend not to be correct before that. The compact size makes this more the reason to invest 2500 Forge Points into it. Bottom line: take it for the coin production, or if you are in an aggressive neighbourhood. Castel del Monte: underwhelming (ok for PvP). Once the building reaches level 1, it is built and starts to give out bonuses, but still can be upgraded with increasing bonuses to a maximum of level 10. Great Buildings require 9 blueprints to construct. Other than Arc 80 ..I've been using 60. Build as soon as you can and keep levelling it. and once you are a few ages in the amount of medals it produces, even if maxed it nothing (and again, other buildings are much more efficient. But still, it is dependent on which type of guild did you join: Join a big one like me, and you probably don't need it; create one or join a small guild, then this is more important than the Castel del Monte. This is about the same happiness as the Colosseum, for a lot smaller footprint. Gives you a boost on most quest rewards. Provides the players guild with a support boost for Guild vs. Guild (GvG). St Marks Basilica: Excellent (peaceful/traders). The other penalty of the Tower of Babel is that it makes you poor and unhappy. Haghia sophia . Well thats my twopence on the GB subject! I suspect that the Statue cant really achieve that real value level, so its mostly a decorative / vanity addition to your city, and helpful to those who really enjoy the PvP battles, or want to use those battles to improve their overall game score. Both PvP and peaceful players will like the defense benefit, while the medal benefit is more helpful to peaceful/trader players. Jump to: navigation, search. JavaScript is disabled. Great Building Level Up Order RaymondCityCR Mar 20, 2022 RaymondCityCR New Member Mar 20, 2022 #1 For new players (like with only Zeus), what is the best order to get and level up great buildings? Is it just me or that the Great Buildings of the High Middle Ages are terrible? Create an account to follow your favorite communities and start taking part in conversations. Saint Basil's Cathedral (10.2%, 51.1%), 16. I've found a lot of various sources on the "best" levels for different GB when transitioning from early leveling to mid-range leveling (past level 10). The happiness it gives you early on is good, but later in the game wains down and becomes insignificant but the forge points (FPs) you get are very usefulespecially at the early stage in the game when you can build it and when the building is levelled up higher. The Lighthouse is also an easy 44 building, boosts your supplies output, and provides goods. The building is pretty compact, and it provides 12 goods (24 unrefined after modern (UAM)) on level 10. The Player will not receive any compensation for deleting the Great Building - neither goods nor blueprints nor invested forge points nor diamonds will be paid back. Truce/Dynamic Tower (7.29%, AA: 36.4%), 29. Bottom line: definitely worth while, and will quickly pay for itself. You don't get 11 goods from a completion until level 8. Hopefully all the gb's aren't up and at those levels. Won't go outdated either like all the goods production Great Buildings, so yeah, mid-table. The Deal Castle medals work out to more than what you can get from all the PvP competitions each week, or about 2820 medals per month, or about one expansion every month or two, depending on how many victory expansions you have already taken. At this rate though, it will take a few months to pay back the cost of the space needed to build it assuming you can get it up to level 10. Thoughts? I built the Lighthouse of Alexandria shortly after I built the Statue of Zeus (i.e. Dump your Forge Points here if you have nothing else to do, but otherwise, it might not be a good idea to build the Galata Tower. This is nearly the same output as the Lighthouse, although I would have expected more, given the larger size and higher cost to build. The Tower gives 6 goods at level one and upgrades itself as you move through the ages! Spoils of War The Arc literally doesn't depricate overtime, but it actually grows in value as you get more and more Forge Points to use, and you'll eventually gets exponentially more Forge Points as you level it up using 1.x threads. Viceroy. ROYAL ALBERT HALL ok/Good. I deleted mine at 30, after realizing what it will continue to offer. So even maxed, the Colosseum is woefully a waste of space. THE ARC VITAL This building is only ok at lower levels, but for any player wanting to be a high level active player it is invaluable. Youll want to have 10 supply production buildings, collected 4 times per day, or some similar arrangement. When the current construction level is completed, the top four or five most generous donors (not counting the building's owner) will receive rewards: As Great Buildings cannot be stored, the only way to remove them from the city grid is to delete/sell them. That is, it gives you people, without any corresponding income. -ScytheNinjAlin- said: I will end with more than 8.5k at the end and only 6k diamonds spent so far +event pass. For a more accurate calculation, you should click on the gear button and enter your top 15 buildings. You'll get opinions here, so here's mine. Quite delicious already, and if you upgrade it to say Level 80 (which is where most people stop upgrading their Arcs), and then do the same thingyou get 209 Forge Points and 5189 Medals. DEAL Bad way too big and the defence bonus it gives is not worth the investment and space. The Statue (and Cathedral etc.) At the other end, Alcatraz won hands down, with CdM a distant second. My thoughts and suggestions as well. Bottom line: a bit overpriced. Bottom line: strongly recommended, and 50% better than the Colosseum, if you have a choice. These are at minimum sufficient to pay back the cost of the space and goods required to build it. Building Age Size Skills Observatory: No Age 3x3 Guild Goods Support Pool Bonus: Temple of Relics: No Age 6x6 Relic Hunt: Oracle of Delphi: THIS. Level 84 for my AO was done as the percentage is 25.1 to succeed. I'll rate each Great Building via [TBD] catagories, and rate each of these categories from 0-10, before calculate the average and translating it to an S to F- system. Plunder Goods I have it upgraded all the way up on Level 10, and it gives me a bonus of 145% increase in supply production, as well as 38 unrefined goods (I'm in PME). An amount of medals every 24 hours. When fully maxed, it provides 7240 supplies daily. The Zeus, C of A, CDM, Basils, and Deal are all necessary, just to protect yourself and fight when needed. Observatory: Low priority. Would plan to delete at some point. Dont rely as I did on building separate Goods, Supply, Residential, Cultural & Decorations when, with some effort, GBs will supply those necessary needs faster. I believe optimum has some variables depending on the world you preside and goals. CF-60 or 80. You must log in or register to reply here. Once the Great Building's requirements have been met and the foundation laid, it will be at level 0 and must be "leveled" to level 1 before granting benefits to the player. (This works out to about 4800 coins and supplies daily in Late Middle Ages, so handily beats the Clapboard-house equivalency test used re the Statue). That is, it saves you both space AND multiple happiness building costs. Statue of Zeus: Mostly decorative (ok for PvP). Arc 80 Cape ~70 Zeus/CoA/TA 59 CdM 65 HC/SC 58 BG 54. Even if you have collected all the required Blueprints, it can still take a long amount of time until you have produced all the required goods. St MARKS BASILICA Ok/bad As above, but gold is useless. (A Tower of Babel, for example, costs the equivalent of 3000 coins and 3000 supplies to produce the 150 Bronze Age goods needed. Bottom line: build this one for the happiness benefit alone. It is still hard to figure out the real value of the Statue, but at a guess, Id think it should give a 5% improvement in your weekly medal rewards, and some goods saved. If you havent already, Google FOE Tools, lots of great info including detailed GB output per level. Bottom line: get it if you are a PvP player, wealthy, or just collect GBs. This is also where you can build the Great Buildings. Interestingly, the Goods output of St Marks is only somewhat (15%?) Again, it will soon be obsolete. Helping Hands The coins are nothing to sneeze at, and you can get this benefit from the Early Middle Ages onwards. Virgo Project: Wouldn't have built. The happiness is almost as much as 8 Churches, while using half the space. At Level 1, it provides a 50% bonus in Quest Rewards. If you contribute a lot, this is outright required to be picked up first. As the levels go up, more points are required and the delay grows. For pure psycho fighters who like terrorising their neighbourhoods only. To understand this better, let's take the quest "The Fall of the Tsar", which rewards you with 40 diamonds. Free choice. day. It also needs to basically break the GBs into the two styles of play (PvP or just questing). Dskies: I came upon your analysis last month. Just dont rely on them at the expense of a good GB or two. Zeus level 75-77 costs 1192 forge points. Its not as powerful as some other GBs, but this is offset by the smaller footprint. c normally refers to coins produced or provided by the GB s normally refers to extra supplies produced by the GB G refers to random goods (of the current age) produced by the GB. Choosing between GBs is now much tougher after the 0.26 update. Fierce Resistance Oh myI thought the Space Needle had low ownership rates, but the Lotus Temple is even worse. DSkies (The Brethren on Fel Drangyr) dskies at gmail com, Ty dskies for your time I saved your post for reference. Raging Clue: You cant directly sell goods for FPs. TA from level 59-61 gives 1% ATK and DEF for both attacking and defending armies. Space (medals) have the next palpable value. As a player of 3 years in the game, let me give you my thoughts. That happens at levels 5, 16, 28, 41, 58, and 91. And the reason why is simple: It's just a ripoff of the Space Needle. This is what you call a GREAT Building. Overall, this IS a very, and I do mean, VERY good Great Building, and I'll be amazed if you don't have it by The Future at the very latest. Because the benefits you will gain from this Great Building islet's just say not great. A bit too much time and effort needed to make it useful IMHO. Now this. To get the same population (for military or goods buildings etc), the Cathedral owner would also need to build houses (and happiness buildings), for another 40+ squares. That 4000 Happiness at Level 10 is a complete joke by the Modern Era, when Cultural Buildings provides around 3000 happiness. (2) In the end game everybody is in Progressive Era with the same army. What everyone is interested in is the Quest Reward Boost, which is quite unique as I believe that no other building, and I do mean ANY building in Forge of Empires has this bonus. It can sometimes make an unsinkable fight suddenly winnable. do encourage more militaristic play, if you can get them up a few levels. So think about it. NEVER. However, it uses less than half as much space (44=16 vs 66=36 squares). Lighthouse of Alexandria (37.1%, AA: 185%), 12. If you enjoy the warfare side of the game, youll need em. However, the placed Great Building is level 0 and it does not give any bonus yet. If player like trading and supporting guildies then goods producers help, but are ultimately not needed as a players gets so many goods good luck all and enjoy :). Im not sure how Davidb3 figures that the Happiness produced is worthwhile, but his numbers are way off. The real bonus it gives is unattached units, which will guarenteed your success in the Guild Expeditions and the Guild Battlegrounds. However I was already at Modern Era when Tomorrow (and the Tower) were released so couldnt benefit. Below I will also give some ideas of how to obtain other formulas when I cannot establish them myself. CdM level 71-73 costs 1256 forge points (you get 87 back from levelling). 2000 coins per day from a GB may feel good in EMA, but is nothing later in the game. If you don't contribute whatsoever however, please don't build this. The Cathedral is effectively providing the same income as about 12 Apartment houses, while using the same space as 4.5 (or 6 really, plus the military bonus as a freebie). Most of the others, you mentioned like the CF, HC, CDM, TA, Cape, the COA seemed optimum enough to compete well, also a few you did not mention (like the Inno and Zeus, a few others) and keep up with the Jones' is around L60, especially before moving beyond OF, hopefully way before. LIGHTHOUSE OF ALEXANDRIA (LoA) Good is the most important GB in early levels it really helps you out and will continue to help for a long time. Zeus, though it only gives one bonus, is a MUST for a fighter, as it gives 30% increase of fight power. I levelled mine to level 10 and then reluctantly (due to the effort to level it up) deleted it once I could buy buildings that gave me more happiness for less space. Printed it. GAIA STATUE ok/good good happiness, not too bad medals. Most GBs will never see level 10, probably not 5. If anyone knows a formula I don't, I will add it here and credit your input. Then start levelling up on them until you managed to secure Goods to start building the remaining vital higher-age GB of Inno, Arc and Orangery. Once the Great Building's requirements have been met and the foundation laid, it will be at level 0 and must be "leveled" to level 1 before granting benefits to the player. 90% of the players in the game would agree that attack bonus is the best Great Building bonus, as it can never really lose in value too quickly due to inflation. All other GBs are either weak for their foot print or only offer FPs and happiness. Zeus, CoA and CDM are musts for the PvP player; without those youre just pretending. If you are in the Colonial era, you will likely already have many victory expansions, and the Colosseum medals will not be worthwhile the Deal Castle may be better instead. Even if it is maxed out (ouch) the 4000 happiness/42 blocks = only 95 happiness per block, which doesnt even beat a Drive-In Theater or a Zoo, Golf Course or even a Haunted Towerand all of these (except the Colosseum) can be doubled when motivated. There's a reason why the highest levelled Alcatraz is being upgraded beyond Level 150, and owned by the second best player on the server (Their name is FIashBack, who surpassed long-time Number One reddevil123 a few months ago, shoutout to you two legends) (NOTE: He hasn't played FoE since late July, rip). Contents 1 What makes Great Buildings special? Ah yes. The only thing I hate about this is that it is the largest building in the game (hence really large footprint), but it's easily justified by it's bonuses. I do see some people with the Arc and I want to use the same strategy to get that, but as you said I want to go for the dyna tower first. Do not level up Oracle at all. Likewise, the space needed is also a big factor. I have looked through all my guild/friends/neighbors and have not found anyone with that GB so I cannot contribute FP to get them. The Goods output is primarily of interest to more peaceful players, and people wishing to buy provinces, rather than those trying to use military for everything. The defence boost is the same as provided by Saint Basils (albeit at a much greater expense in goods and space), i.e. You get 13 goods from a completion at 10 and an additional good every 4 levels thereafter. everything else takes a back seat. ALCATRAZ Very Good/VITAL. Wondering if anyone has a list of targeted levels of each great building?? RandomForger123 2 yr. ago. The Castel is moderately sized (55=25 squares), providing an attack boost, and forge points. This is one of them. TA? The (maxed) daily output of 19750 coins (much less than the pre 0.26 output) is weaker than that from St Marks (which is a larger GB), but much better than the Cathedral of Aachen (same size, but earlier age). (Reality will be different of course, but it is a useful gauge/estimate). Thank you Agent327, that is exactly what I needed. Chance to receive a random reward after successfully completing a negotiation. The Great Building at level 0 is just a construction site and it won't build itself like other buildings. I literally deleted my Oracle after I got back into playing the game, as it is now just wasting 9 spaces for baby-sized happiness and raw supplies. Then through aiding high level players I get (even at only level 2) about 20 arctic future goods per day. Zeus-63. Update: Note that the original analysis was made before the 0.26 update announcement on Feb 5, 2013, and some comments have been modified or updated since then. Helping Hands The coins are nothing to sneeze at, and you can get this benefit from the Early Middle Ages onwards. Virgo Project: Wouldn't have built. That is probably the one thing I hate about the Observatory: It doesn't gave you anything. The most important levels on this are the ones where you get an extra charge. Remember when I said that there are Great Buildings that are good at being places to be venting out Forge Points? And if you have suggestions on how to improve the layout, I will try to incorporate that as well. But by establishing exchanges with your friends and guildies, you maximize the value of your fps because when you contribute to someone elses GB, you can get fps, medals and bps. Thats about the value of one Late Middle Ages good per day, or about one expansion space every 4 weeks. Don't make this a priority, but it's still a nice building to have. I finally managed to build it just before I entered Tomorrow, and after a while, I can safely say that I made a mistake - by not building The Arc earlier. Its worthwhile for this alone. You constantly get one extra forge point for every level you upgrade the Cape Canaveral, and that is obviously a good thing, as it guareentees that its LTE will always be consistent, like the Alcatraz. And if you happen to reach the end of the tech tree or take the last sector of your map, the Lighthouse might not be very useful anymore but youll have had good value in the meantime. Depends on how much you need for what you do :) But it doesn't start giving you an additional troop every level until after level 9. Bottom line: yes, take it for the happiness (the supplies are just a bonus). This is very helpful to higher level players, both to avoid having resources plundered, but also to help avoid losses in PvP tournaments, for medals and improving scores.
